One thing we do a lot of here at CarbonetiX is provide reports. Reports showing clients how to reduce their energy consumption or better manage their carbon footprint.

One of our clients who had received an Energy Doctor check up came to our office at 8am this morning, and spent a couple of hours with me discussing how to implement the recommendations in the energy review we did of his office. For me it was an intensely satisfying two hours.

Its obvious that this guy is going to save energy. He had spent the time to go through our report in detail and was asking practical questions about how to implement what we had advised.

Compare this with the customer who gets the report, says that they haven’t had a chance to look at it yet when you phone them up a couple of weeks later, promises to call you, and that’s the last you hear of it. The chances are that the report is gathering dust.

Supplying customers with reports helps pay the wages and rent, but isn’t what we are about. Knowing that reports aren’t being acted on is soul destroying. Putting in effort to understand a site and come up with practical energy saving measures, only to see it go nowhere, is really frustrating. We want our customers to save energy, we don’t want to provide reports that aren’t acted on.

Our client who came in today was impressed with our practical understanding of saving energy. I spent time with him showing different types of lights and timers.  I was showing him brand new technologies he hadn’t seen before, and our low cost light testing set up. He commented that its obvious we really want our customers to save energy, given the amount of money and effort we spend keeping up to date and buying and trialling products before we recommend them to customers.

CarbonetiX exists to assist its customers with reducing their energy consumption. The third is our Energy Doctor check up for buildings of electricity bills of up to $20,000 where we identify low-cost /no-cost ways of saving energy with a fast payback, and guarantee that we will identify savings worth at least the value of the service.
