Carbon Inventory – Banana Shire

Summary
Banana Shire Council engaged CarbonetiX to develop a greenhouse gas inventory for the 2012/13 financial year. This involved the measurement of emissions generated by the Council’s landfills, wastewater treatment plants, fleet, stationary fuels, street lighting and electricity consumption. The results of the FY2012/13 greenhouse gas inventory were compared to a baseline inventory developed in 2009 to gauge the environmental performance of the Council and identify prioritised areas to target emissions reduction.
